You will not be disappointed with the food. They give so much and it's so delicious. I've ate here twice and have yet to complain about anything! I'm from Hawai'i originally and love diverse food, it's so good and I will continue to come back for their food!

I love their curry and oxtail. Very good customer service as well. Consistent as well- I've been ordering here for years.

Caribbean Dutch Pot Restaurant & Groceries was formerly V& M Caribbean Market & Restaurant

It's a hole in the wall; basically a take out jerk food joint with little if anything in the line of groceries except for some spices, cheap rice and some canned goods.

There are a couple of tables at which you can sit down and eat. The counter clerk will bring your food in a take out container along with a paper napkin and a plastic fork to on a tray your table; if she isn't too busy talking or otherwise texting on her cell phone.

Upon entry I was politely greeted by the counter clerk who was seated at a table talking on her cell phone with a polite "Wha dah wan?" greeting. When I advised her that I'd like to get some lunch, she told me to wait a moment, then after some duration finished her cell phone conversation, finally got up, stepped behind the counter and asked me "What did yaz saz youz wanted?"

To make a long story, but not as long as her cell phone conversations, short I ordered the jerked chicken which came with a small amount of chicken, a mound of not so good rice and 5 (I counted them) measly little black beans; no black bean sauce. I have to give them credit that the jerked chicken was tasty enough though I nearly lost my appetite when the Jamaican flag drape was pulled away revealing the squalor of the kitchen. I commented on the kitchen and was advised "We only just opened."

It was high noon and during the course of my meal I was the only customer they had though several seemingly neighborhood people stopped by to tell jokes and generally goof off with the counter clerk and the cook.

Overall, though I did like the taste of their jerked chicken I could hardly find it to be of redeeming value in light of the crappy rice with 5 black beans, presentation in a take out container, inattentive service and general appearance of the kitchen.

Fatty chicken that they call, "jerk" with close to no spice at all.   And how do you screw up red beans and rice?  Seriously, how do you?  I'm guessing this is what week old dried out beans and rice tastes like.

Sadly it is not very good. I was excited when I found this place thinking I would be able to get some good Jamaican food. This is not the case. Both the ox tails and the jerk chicken were flavorless. Too bad we cold use a good Jamaican restaurant in town. We have not had one since Taste of Jamaica years ago.
